Volunteer Experience
One of my major passions in life is philanthropy and caring for the underprivileged. I was blessed to grow up in a very stable household with amazing parents and I feel called to give back in whatever way I can. Since I have been in college, I have volunteered for the Special Olympics multiple times. I have also been a part of the Missouri Convoy of Hope, packaging and preparing meals for families in need.
In the summer of 2011, Joplin, Mo. was hit with a devastating tornado and I was on the scene within the first week. I was an active participant in resource gathering and clean-up of accessible areas.
In the summer of 2010, I traveled with 26 other men by car to Juneau, Alaska to serve a community in desperate need of hope. In our three months in Juneau, my brothers and I volunteered at Love INC., Sealaska Heritage Institute and the Tlingit-Haida Native America Council. We were responsible for various tasks, such as delivering furniture to the needy, working construction projects, painting and splitting wood for the community. Below is a slideshow documenting the highlights of our trip.
